“Why Do You Do What You Do?”

Recently, a friend asked me this very question. Why I blog. Well for one, I Love it. However, even if you love to do something, doesn’t mean sharing it with the world, makes you any less afraid of what others may think, whether or not they’ll resonate. Because a lot of us, aspire to inspire others. To make a difference & feel purposeful in what we do. However, when we focus on fear rather than love, it can hold us back from fully experiencing what could be. And even get in the way, of what we could create*.

Having said that, ever since I started blogging, there were many times I let fear block me – whether it held me back from all that I truly wanted to say. Or, from sharing a post, even when I felt pulled* to do it.

However, with the recent pandemic, can we even afford to not act on what we feel pulled towards?

The thing is. When you’re driven by love. By purpose. Beyond you. But that deeply resonates within you. This alone, can motivate you to take action in moments of fear. Of doubt. Of uncertainty.

So, why do I blog, even if at times, it may mean, not many people will read or vibe with what I write? Well more than ever, among a lot others, I feel the need to spread the message. To Serve. To bring awareness, and light to new perspective. To share positive vibes especially during this time. Thus, if through sharing we can inspire even one person. Isn’t that the purpose? To help the collective by being who we are and doing what we love.

With that said, when you do what you love & share it with others. In turn, you grow* by facing your fears. Learn* via trial & “error”. Moreover, in expressing your truth, you’ll be heard & connect with those of similar vibe who may even become part of your “soul tribe” . So, find your “Why” and be driven by it. As it’ll give you the courage in moments of fear. Ultimately, your “WHY” will guide you closer to who you’re meant to be and what you’re meant to do in this world.

Lastly, Thank you for taking the time to read my blogs & for everyone who’s supported and encouraged me to do what I love no matter what. You’ve truly made an impact.

Ps. My “Why” is now leading me to Vlog 😉

Self-Ish or Self-Care?

You Need You, Too

If you ever felt guilty for putting yourself first, this blog is for you. If you ever felt that it was wrong, to honor your needs if it meant disappointing others, this blog is MADE for you.

So, during this whole pandemic, we’ve been challenged, tested left and right. We’ve been triggered and felt fear on a whole other level. Moreover, during this time, our true colors were revealed.  Our priorities were re-evaluated, and our energy re-allocated. Because more than ever, with everything going on, what we want is to feel good. And what we need, is to do what’s best for ourselves. To heal. To survive, so we can thrive.

Thus, during a time when we all need to fight for ourselves, we may likely make decisions that are the most beneficial to our* health, emotional well being, and financial situation. In other words, ones that honor our needs (this may also include a family of your own)

So, does this imply, we’re all at the core, “Self-ish” to a certain extent under given circumstances?  Or is this considered “Self-Care”, if what we want is to take care of ourselves now that we finally have the chance (given our circumstances) and need to more than ever.

But, How do we balance between our own needs and the needs of others, during a pandemic?

While this madness was going on, I couldn’t help but experience inner conflict. I felt like I had worked super hard to get to where I am. Whether it be in terms of my mental, emotional or physical health (yes this may fluctuate). Or towards creating a future for myself. I felt like I had finally come to a place, where I truly know who I am and my needs . In regards to what I’m able to do for others while also taking care of myself. Ultimately, I felt like I could no longer NOT be “Self-ish”, so to speak.

However, during this unfortunate pandemic, I knew others also needed my help. Thus, I wanted to be there in the ways that I could. To be open to finding a middle ground, where both parties could feel good about. The thing is, often in these moments, we’re faced with two options. Either to hold back your truth and put others’ needs before yours, in order to please them. Or express your truth, and stand by your needs (also), at the risk of creating conflict with others involved. And in turn, disappointing them, if they are not in agreement.

Because, although this pandemic was something none of us expected, and although sometimes we got to roll with the punches, if I had chosen the first option, I would’ve likely felt resentful in the end. I wouldn’t have “Self-Cared”. As it would’ve meant putting my own health at risk while neglecting my emotional well being, and financial needs during an undetermined period of time.

>> And was I willing to do that, after all that I’ve done to get here? <<

The thing is, when we don’t listen to our body. When we don’t listen to our needs (emotionally as well) in turn, this could manifest into the physical. Thus, could make you even more vulnerable to what’s out there during this time, and that’s the last thing we need.

But, even if you choose to honor your needs in the end, you may still felt guilty about it in moments, and that’s only human. Perhaps, this guilt comes from the feeling of “obligation”, of being “expected” of? That we may put on ourselves, or let others? So how do we then shift into feeling at peace with the decisions we make that often feel conflicting?

Perhaps, in these moments, we could choose to trust our intuition. Trust that, at the end of the day, we come from a place of good intention. That we mean well, and do what we can. Thus, although in these moments, we may not have been able to please everyone (can we ever?), what’s important is that we were able to we find the courage to honor our needs and speak our* truth (which in turn, leads to growth in self love <3).

With that said, if we come from a place of love for ourselves, then in the long run, we can then give to others more, from a place of love as well. Thus, this may mean, at times, setting boundaries. Asking for middle ground. Or Saying No. At the risk of not being able to please others. Because if you, yourself do not* value your worth, or respect your needs, why would anyone else?

With that said, although it may be extremely difficult at times to put yourself first, to “Self-Care” when you truly want to help. And even more so when you deeply care about the other parties involved. Remember this: You shouldn’t have to feel guilty for being true to who you are, for honoring how you feel, and your needs.

*We’re all doing our best during this difficult period of uncertainty and of survival.*

Lastly, during these times, the truth is: You need You, too.

I hope you are all healthy, safe, and “Self-cared”.

Trust Your Journey. Life Happens “For” You.

Life brought you here – and maybe that’s exactly where you need to be. (In Quarantine)
(I was inspired to share this post as I feel  many of us are going through a super hard time right now.)
Dear friend, family, every one: Yes, You may feel “lost” but now is the opportunity, to find yourself, more than ever. You may feel stagnant, but you’ll grow even more (behind closed doors). At times we’re so focused on where we want to be that we don’t take the time to reflect on how far we’ve come & how strong we’ve become. (You are a Warrior)
With that said, sometimes, we need to “fail” in order to then prevail. “Miss” opportunities, so you can be led to the “right” ones. Sometimes, things need to fall apart (this crisis), so things can then fall into place. Sometimes It’s through moments of darkness, that you can see a glimpse of light. ‘Cause like #Rumi says, “the wound is the place the light enters you”.
So although we may feel like giving up even more during this time. And that things just seem to keep getting worse. Please, hold on. Find the courage, to rise from the ashes (when you’re ready). Find something to fight for, while you’re still here. Do what it takes to refuel, so you can be inspired once again, in time.
➡️ One day you’ll look back and realize, that this was part of your process. To heal. To get to that place, you’ve been wanting to go. Thus, as hard as  it may be, Trust in The ups AND Downs. The battles you’ve overcome. Cause they led you HERE + This period is necessary, for what’s to come next. Which will be BOMB! Lastly, I know it’s harder than ever right now but…Trust Your Journey, Life happens “For” You.
Sending you all healing vibes.

Love over Hate. Peace Over “War”.

Given my Asian ethnicity, it’s no secret I was targeted as well as became witness to hate that was brought to the surface during times like these. In addition to the unfortunate crisis, we were reminded that racism is still ongoing and separates, rather than unites us.

However, as frustrating as it can be to observe all this madness going on, we were also shown on the other side, that there’s still hope in humanity. That there are tons of dope ass (non) humans out there : whether it’s those using their wide platform & voice to inspire others, whether it’s those who are putting themselves more at risk working crazy hours to be of service for those in need, or even those helping out the elders and the vulnerable rather than project hate and profit during this time.

Lastly, the “war” I speak about, is the one within us. Thus, by loving yourself (first), you can love others (more). And during times like these where we may need it the most, perhaps it’s the perfect timing to Choose Love. To Choose Peace. Oh and to always, be a G. 😉

Bored & Frustrated? Channel that Sh!t & Get Creative ;)

So this morning, I woke up and felt the pull to do this Video. I guess with all this madness, I’ve been inspired to do random shit. This.

Alot of people have been saying how bored they are and how they can’t wait for things to get better… Cuz yes. This period of uncertainty sucks. It’s tough to cope with the changes. Unfortunately, what’s happening right now is beyond our control. But, meanwhile, What are You going to do to Shift Your Vibe?

New Space. New Energy. New Perspective.

At first I wasn’t sure if moving out during all the chaos, was ideal – but realize that it was actually perfect timing.

With everything going on in the world, we’re now truly motivated to go “inside”, have less means to escape via distractions and therefore having a space where you feel good is more than optimal. Whether it’s your home. Your environment. Or within. Create one where you feel safe. To be who you are. One, where you can get creative, express yourself, and find inner peace. Where you can dig deeper and reflect on what truly matters. This is a time to be grateful for what you already have, and to cultivate healthier habits while letting go of what no longer vibes with you. Because more than ever, your health and your emotional well being is so important. More than ever, this is not a time to give up.

So if there’s a project or a dream you’ve been wanting to pursue. But never have. If anything, the time is now. It might just mean that we’ll have to think outside the box. Get truly creative, and do things differently, with the resources we have.

With that said, there’s always a silver lining in any tragedy. And maybe this is our opportunity to finally wake the fvck up 🙂 .To truly hustle within and behind the scenes. Plant seeds towards our goals, and build ourselves, while we’re still in one piece.

Lastly, with all this madness going on, and while in moments we may feel like we’re losing hope in humanity, perhaps through it all, we’ll gain more courage from here on to rebel against societal norms, and expectations. Of how we should do things and how we should be. To break through old paradigms. Of what we were once taught to believe. And instead, listen to our own inner voice. Stand for our own truth. Be who we really are and take action towards what we fear. Towards our dreams. And what we truly care about.

Ultimately, maybe this madness, will awaken us to MISBEHAVE, and in turn, we can shift paradigms, and make (dope) history.

On that note, family and friends, everyone. I hope you are all healthy and gaining new perspective during this period of uncertainty. Take care of yourself and create your own (inner) space where you can feel good during the time we need to feel that the most.

Sending you all dope vibes and good energy!

Go Within – Heal Inside

Why Do We “Escape”?

‘Cause it’s scary to confront the parts of us we don’t necessarily want to face. And at times, instead of facing what we feel, we repress it. Numb it out. Escape through our own vices. Because it’s easier. Because it hurts to go within. I once got so good at escaping – to the point where I couldn’t feel. Until it all caught up to me and manifested into the physical – into illness – disease. Until, I had no choice but to face it all at once.

But why wait until then?

The thing is, choosing to sit with your emotions – with your pain, takes courage. It’s brave NOT to run. To let yourself feel what you feel. For sure, Going Within is painful AF BUT it’s necessary for growth. To bring you closer to your truth, to ultimately enlighten you. Know that every step you take towards facing your own shit, and the more you allow yourself to feel & dig deeper, the closer you are to healing in-side. Which in turn, heals you on the out-side. 😉

Thus, although these periods of going within, and of “recovery” from whatever it may be, may often feel like you’re missing out or that you’re not moving forward, they serve as opportunities for you to address the core of the matter, to awaken to new perspective, to heal within, grow and come back stronger than before.

With that said, I know it really sucks and it hurts like hell. But, be open to the silence, the tower moments, the “dark night of the soul” the “falling apart”. You’d be surprised of what you can discover in these moments that will bring you to new “places” you couldn’t have gone prior.  As hard and dark as it gets – Commit to your Healing. Because on the other side, is Freedom within & a bunch of dope shit coming your way – that are meant for you. 🙂

So yeah, the Journey to Healing is a constant fight* within. It’s never a straight line. At times it feels upside down. And for sure there will be times you’ll want to escape. Temporarily. And that’s okay. We all do. However, if you’re reading this, you’ve taken a step. By being open, you are progressing.  You’re on your way. So be proud of yourself man. For when you do NOT run. For when you take the time to go within – For not giving up on the “fight”. Ultimately,  For Choosing to Heal Inside.

Lastly, when you feel like escaping, Remember. YOU are worth Saving*. <3

Chill Your Mind – Think Less. Live More.

For those of you who often Over-Think and those of you who have your moon in Gemini, I feel you. We may have more tendency to rationalize our emotions, and try to “understand” them rather than feel them. And thus in turn, may spend more time living inside our minds, then actually LIVING.

WHY? Fear. Fear of not knowing (the answers). Fear of not having control (of the outcome). And in some instances, Fear of LIVING.

So, How do can we be more present?

According to Eckhart Tolle, Thinking is an addiction. And we must become an observer of our thoughts to free ourselves from the mind. To be in the now. Thus, by choosing to put up that white flag and surrender to the present moment when you feel your mind start to take over. With practice, just like anything else, you’ll be more and more present.

Because, aren’t you tired of not “acting” on what you feel, in certain moments, of not being “here now”, to then ruminate on what could’ve been. What you could’ve done?

I certainly am…

So these days, although I still find it hard af, what helps me talk myself out of Over-Thinking, is by reminding myself and focusing on the importance* of living now. So do what helps you be more present. Because YOLO – Cliché but, truly you don’t know what tomorrow will bring, and if this moment will ever come again. Being present allows you to truly connect, to yourself, to the ones you love, to the world around you, and in turn, you can achieve more, feel more, be more. Alive.

Isn’t that the point of living? 😉

So yeah, I know it seems impossible at times. To quiet the mind. To not worry. To not question. But when you can (because you always can), let go of that shit in your mind that doesn’t serve you – that holds you back from the now. Which like they say, is all you have.

Moreover, give life a chance to surprise you. Let life happen, and trust that things will work out on its own, as it’s meant to.

when you catch your mind acting up, Choose to “Think less and Live more”.

Chill your mind & All will be chill yo. 😉
